190 Visa Tasmania Application Process

190 Visa Requirements – Federal Government
You and your dependant family must satisfy the Department of Home Affairs requirements:

- must be under age 45 when being nominated
- obtain a full skills assessment for the skilled occupation that you have nominated
- have competent level of English Language
- scored at least 65 points or higher on the skilled migration point test
Available Nomination Streams and Requirements for 190 Visa Tasmania – State Government
There are 2 streams available for 190 Visa Tasmania state nomination, which are Tasmanian Graduates and Working in Tasmania. We will provide a brief introduction to both streams in the following section.
Tasmanian Graduate Stream
This stream is divided into 2 categories.
If you commence your last course of study in Tasmania before 30 June 2021
-
- You must have completed and graduated from a CRICOS registered tertiary institution in Tasmania. You also need to meet the Australian study requirement through study in Tasmania.
- Your study must have been completed full-time and on-site in Tasmania.
- You have lived in Tasmania for at least 2 years during study prior to applying for state nomination.
- You and your dependents must be currently living in Tasmania and demonstrate your genuine ongoing commitment to remain in Tasmania.
- If you do not have a job, you need to provide a career plan to explain how your employment probabilities have increased because of your study.
If you commence your last course of study in Tasmania after 30 June 2021

- You must have completed a course of study and obtained a letter of completion from a CRICOS registered tertiary institution in Tasmania.
- Your course of study must be listed on CRICOS. The duration must be at least 92 weeks and must have been completed full-time and on-site in Tasmania.
- You must have lived in Tasmania for at least 2 years from the start date of your course.
- You and your dependents must be currently living in Tasmania and demonstrate your genuine ongoing commitment to remain in Tasmania.
- If you do not have a job, you need to provide a career plan to explain how your employment probabilities have increased because of your study.
- Your study does not have to be related to your nominated occupation; however, a relevant skills assessment will be highly regarded.
- If you held a student visa when you completed your last course of study in Tasmania, the study must be
- a degree or a diploma or
- a qualification directly related to Priority Industry Training and Workforce Development Area at the minimum qualification level for that area.
- If you held a visa that was not a student visa when you completed your last course of study in Tasmania, the study must be directly related to Priority Industry Training and Workforce Development Area at the minimum qualification level for that area.
Employment is not a requirement for the Tasmanian Graduate Stream. However, the government will take your evidence of employment into consideration if it satisfies the follwoing requirements:

- Your employer is established and has been operating in Tasmania for at least 1 year.
- You have been employed by the company for more than 3 months
- If you have been working in the dairy, meat, accommodation, logistics, or farming industry for at least 6 months before lodging your nomination application, you should have completed at least Cert III relevant industry training.
Working in Tasmania Stream
If you’d like to seek 190 visa Tasmania state nomination via this stream, you will need to meet the following requirements:

- You must have been working in Tasmania for 6 months prior to lodging your state nomination application. Your employment has to be at least 35 hours per week (either 1 full-time job or 2 or more part-time jobs).
- You and your dependents must be currently living in Tasmania and demonstrate your genuine ongoing commitment to remain in Tasmania.
- Your employment must be on the Tasmanian Skilled Occupations List (TSOL). You must satisfy the English proficiency requirement listed on TSOL.
- Your employment must be in your nominated occupation.
- Your employer must be established and has been operating in Tasmania for at least 1 year.
- Your position must be a genuine and ongoing need within the company. You must have a minimum 12-month contract and when you apply for the state nomination, you must have at least 3 months remaining in your employment contract left. Casual contract is acceptable but it must comply with the Fair Work Ombudsman’s National Employment Standards.
- Your wages and conditions must be the same as those that apply to an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
