Subclass 485: Temporary Graduate Visa
Subclass 485 Temporary Graduate visa is a temporary visa which allows student visa holder who has recently graduated with eligible Australian qualification to live, work and/or study in Australia temporarily.
Secondary applicant who will be making a combined application with the primary applicant may be in or outside Australia, but not in immigration clearance, to apply for this visa. However, the secondary applicant must be in Australia to be granted this visa.
Secondary applicant who will be making subsequent entrant application may be in or outside Australia, but not in immigration clearance, to apply and to be granted this visa.
Visa Streams
- Graduate Work Stream
- Post-Study Work Stream
Stay Period
- For Graduate Work stream, up to 18 months. Hong Kong passport holders may stay up to 5 years;
- For Post-Study Work stream:
- bachelor degree (including honours): 2 years
- masters by coursework: 2 years
- masters by research: 3 years
- doctoral degree: 4 years
- Hong Kong passport holders who successfully complete a bachelor, masters or doctoral degree: 5 years
